Reliving the Menus on Two Days at Sea

June 16th - Sea Day

We got up too late to get the pre-ordered gluten free breakfast at the Royal Court so we went down to the Enchanted Garden and got it there. The breakfast really looked good.

My granddaughter palled around with Kimberly that she met yesterday. She went to bingo with her (just watched), and she went to the port shopping talk hoping to get a free gift (but didn't) and she watched Aladdin which she said she didn't remember from the first time.

I'm really happy about this as I felt she didn't have any friends from the last cruise and I think she is happy about it too.

The excursion desk wanted to talk to me again about some of the excursions. They seem absolutely determined to make it IMPOSSIBLE for me to do any excursions because I am using a scooter or because I'm old or... I don't know what the reason is, but they just make it really, really difficult. I really resent this. It has made me an anti-Disney fan.

I reassured them about the snorkeling and the parasailing, but I decided to not do the helmet dive because they wanted me to not have high blood pressure or any lung problems like asthma at any time in the past and since I had asthma as a child 60 years ago, I couldn't truthfully answer that I had not ever had those problems. I don't want to lie. So we will just go to Coral World on our own and see if we can book it there. Actually the only excursions that I have through Disney on this cruise are the ones on Castaway Key and there's no other option there.

Dinner tonight was in the Animators Palate (formal night).

My granddaughter went to the show and really enjoyed it I think. It was a guitar player who did standup type comedy. She came in and told me about the show, which she really liked. She went out again and was out until after midnight with Kimberly. They had been playing with the steering the boat game and talking.

I finally called her on the WAV phone and she came to bed. Disney has these cell phones that they call WAV phones - parents take one and a child takes the other one so they can stay in touch.

June 17th Sea Day

So we were up late on the 17th and missed breakfast at the Enchanted Garden (on our floor) and had to go up to the Royal Court.

I spent time on the computer. She tried to use the computer they had checked out to us and could not. The desk told us it was because of the weather. In truth my computer was unable to get a signal in the morning, but the rest of the day it worked fine, and hers still did not. I did find that the minutes carried over from one trip to another which has never been the case before on any other cruise line.

We had exactly the same food as the previous cruise which meant that if I didn't like it last time - I didn't like it this time either.but since we had the same waiter the advantage that if I forgot what I didn't like before, he could remind me. Some nights I had a hard time finding something I liked and some nights there was a lot of good stuff

Because our waiter has two large tables and us, and the two large tables are ordering multiples of things, he is often late getting stuff for us. Dinner was at the Enchanted Garden tonight

The guy who did the show the previous night that she liked was doing a 'matinee' show at 7:30 which she wanted me to come to. So this time we told the waiters that we wanted out early, and they got us out before 1900 for a change instead of at almost 2000. We went up to the show venue which was The Tube (decorated sort of like a subway)

There were so many people that came to the show that they broadcast it to another room in the area. It was very funny.
